Termination Letter Template

A termination letter is a formal document that informs an employee about their dismissal from a job. The letter generally includes the following information:

  • Employee Credentials: All relevant employee information such as the employee’s name, address and passport number.
  • The final date of work.
  • Reason for Termination: The letter should explicitly state the reason of dismissal, which can include poor performance, attendance issues, misconduct at the workplace, or ‘at-will’ termination.
  • Return of Company Property: The employee should be requested to return company property such ass devices, ID cards and important documents. The employee may also be requested to delete important company-related information under a confidentiality agreement.
  • Severance and Benefits: The letter can also include details on final paycheck, severance, and benefits continuation, if required.
